ABOUT THE ROSE

From the past to the present…

In the Heart of Biggleswade’s Old Town….

Once home to an ancient coaching inn, The Rose & Crown stood on this site until 1899, when it was replaced by the modern-day Rose. History runs deep here — records trace back as far as 1576, including a visit from the infamous London brothel madam “Black Luce” who reportedly had ties to Shakespeare himself.

Today, The Rose proudly stands as a truly independent pub, offering a wide range of premium beers and ciders, comfy bar seating in an open-plan layout, a covered patio garden — and the finest ladies' loos you’ll ever encounter!

We show Sky Sports and TNT across multiple screens indoors and out, covering all the major sporting events — football, rugby, and more.

Weekends come alive with music from local bands and musicians, while Wednesdays host our ever-popular pub quiz, and Thursdays bring the thrill of poker night. Our monthly comedy nights regularly feature some of the biggest names on the UK circuit.

Above all, we’re known for having the friendliest staff and the warmest welcome in town. Whether you're flying solo or out with friends, pop in and make yourself at home.
